On February 14, an adult male Virginia Opossum was admitted to the Wildlife Center as patient #16-0056. The opossum was brought in by a homeowner who found the opossum with his leg stuck in a fence around their compost bin.
The homeowner initially freed the opossum from the fence, but the animal remained dull; he decided to bring the opossum to the Center for additional care.
