On June 20, Dr. Dana brought Bald Eagle #16-0921 into the Wildlife Center's hospital for chest radiographs. The bird's respiratory condition continued to deteriorate, and Dr. Dana was able to see an increased soft-tissue opacity (cloudiness) in the bird's lung fields on radiographs. Given the bird's rapid decline and respiratory distress, Dr. Dana elected to humanely euthanize the young eagle.
