During the past few days, Bald Eagle #16-0013 remained quiet, alert, and responsive in the Center’s holding room as he recovered from his surgery. On the morning of January 21, Dr. Dana noticed that the bird was sternal [lying on his chest], dull, and exhibiting behavior that was indicative of a seizure. Dr. Dana left the Center’s holding room for about five minutes to prep the treatment room for Bald Eagle #16-0013 and when she returned, the bird was on its back and having another seizure.
